How Are You Different?

first_imgIf you are a salesperson, your prospective clients are going to ask you what makes you different. You absolutely must have a thoughtful, compelling answer. If you are a sales leader, you need to prepare your team to answer this question. It isn’t the salesperson’s duty to define your differentiation strategy. Here are some ideas about differentiating your offering:There isn’t one thing. Say so. There likely isn’t one thing that differentiates you from  your competitors in a meaningful way. How you are different in a way that makes a difference for your clients is more complicated than that. You start your answer to the question of what makes you different with a statement that sounds like, “There isn’t one thing that makes us different. It’s four things combined that allows us to produce the results we produce and makes us different than other companies in our space.”Share your values. If you are a values-based organization, that is the place to start. If what you do serves some greater mission, those underlying values will speak volumes to your dream clients. It’s easy for people to connect to the things that you care about when they are the things that they care about. Too many people fear going to values, but there isn’t anything more meaningful or powerful. What you do differently. Even though you and your competitors both work in the same space, you don’t do things exactly the same way. Your processes are different. The things that you think are most important to producing results are different from the things that they believe to be most important. You know the things you do differently. Make a list of your processes that are different from your competitors. Then move on to “why?”Why you do things differently. It isn’t enough to list out all the things that you do differently and how your processes are unique. You have to explain how your different processes and systems produce better results. How does what you do eliminate the common problems and challenges that cause me to change suppliers in your space? How do these different processes make things better for your clients?Tell stories. Your values are different. Your processes are different. Your results are different. But the way to roll those up and make them meaningful to your clients is to tell the stories. Tell the stories that helped you define what is important to your organization. Tell the stories about why you changed your processes and how those changes are making a difference for your clients. This gives your differentiation strategy meaning. If you tell your dream client what makes you different is your people, you’ve likely just reminded them of exactly how alike you are, seeing as how that’s the answer she’s gotten from most of your competitors when she asked them.Do the work to define what makes you different in a way that allows you to effectively answer this question.last_img read more

We’ll do everything to keep him.”All the top clubs in the world have their eyes on him, and that’s normal, but the president has been clear. The idea is for him to continue at the club.”In contrast, with my experience in football, I would say that if a club arrives with a big number and can convince the player… I would sell him for €80 million.”That’s the price tag, but you’d have to convince the player and he’s been a big part of us being in second place.” last_img read more

In 2nd straight shutout Ohio State baseball takes down Marshall 50

Fueled by some early hitting and a strong performance from freshman right-hander Jake Post, the Ohio State baseball team defeated Marshall, 5-0, on Wednesday. “All (the offense) need to do is support this pitching staff and crunch out a few runs,” said OSU head coach Greg Beals. “You give that group of pitchers a four-run lead right off the bat, it’s going to be a tough ball game.” The Buckeyes wasted no time to take the lead, scoring four runs in the first inning. Redshirt senior center fielder Joe Ciamacco started the top of the first by singling to center field. After he stole second, redshirt senior infielder Ryan Cypret followed with a base hit to right center, scoring Ciamacco. After senior infielder Kirby Pellant was retired on a pop up, sophomore right fielder Pat Porter reached on an error when Marshall sophomore shortstop Sergio Leon slipped trying to field a groundball. In the next at bat, freshman infielder Jacob Bosiokovic scorched a double to deep left center to score the runners and put OSU up, 3-0. Marshall redshirt sophomore pitcher Kyle Kessler was then replaced by senior right-hander Matt Hummel. A wild pitch by Hummel allowed Bosiokovic to cross the plate for the Buckeyes’ fourth run of the inning. The Buckeyes threatened again in the bottom half of the second by putting three runners on base, but they were unable to get them home. A lightning delay in the middle of the third halted action for 40 minutes before play was resumed at 8:05 p.m. The delay did not seem to slow the OSU offense down, however, as they were able to tack on another run in the bottom of the fourth. Leading off, freshman infielder Troy Kuhn narrowly beat out a groundball that deflected off of Marshall senior first baseman Nathan Gomez’s glove for a single. A stolen base advanced Kuhn to second before redshirt senior first baseman Brad Hallberg was able to knock him in with a base hit up the middle. Ciamacco said that the offense is starting to realize what it does best. “Our coaches always talk about our identity as a team, and I mean, for a lot of us, we’re a whole bunch of speed guys,” Ciamacco said. “We just need to put the ball in play and let our wheels do the talking for us.” Post (2-0), tossed five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out four batters. Despite a solid outing, the right-hander thought he had more gas left in the tank. “I felt like I could have went longer,” Post said. “Either way the coaches were just concerned with the gap, you know sit down for a while and pick it up. They just wanted me to take it easy.” In relief, the quartet of sophomore Ryan Riga, redshirt senior David Fathalikhani, redshirt junior Tyler Giannonatti and sophomore Trace Dempsey sustained the shutout for the Buckeyes. With the win, OSU improves to 21-10 on the season while Marshall, which used eight pitchers in the game, dropped to 13-19. The Buckeyes are set to travel to Lincoln, Neb., over the weekend for a three-game series against the Cornhuskers. The first game is scheduled to begin at 5:05 p.m. on Friday. read more

Review Serbia – Brazil

first_imgBrazil didn’t dominate, but showed why it is the main favorite with a 2-0 victory over Serbia. Paulinho and Thiago Silva were the goalscorers. The big matches don’t stop coming. Here are the teams for #SRBBRA and #SUICRC! #WorldCup pic.twitter.com/YGLcioHceA— FIFA World Cup (@FIFAWorldCup) June 27, 2018Paul Pogba, Manchester UnitedReport: Neymar blocked Paul Pogba move to PSG Andrew Smyth – September 12, 2019 Manchester United star Paul Pogba allegedly agreed on a shock deadline day transfer to Paris Saint-Germain only for Neymar to block the deal.Brazil’s star left back Marcelo had to be subbed off in the 10th minute of the match at Spartak Moscow’s stadium because of what looked like a muscle injury. He waited for a while on the sidelines while Filipe Luis prepared and then limped off the pitch. During the first 20 minutes, Serbia’s high press was disturbing Brazil’s organization and didn’t allow them to play their game. In the 25th minute, Serbia’s defenders couldn’t take the ball away from Gabriel Jesus and Neymar inside the box. They kept pushing until Neymar finally made a left-footed attempt that Vladimir Stojkovic deflected with his fingertips. Gabriel Jesus avoided an offside trap in the 30th minute and had a great opportunity to score. However, he didn’t seem to be convinced he was not offside and reacted somewhat slowly. After faking out the first defender, the second one blocked his shot.In the 32nd minute, Adem Ljajic received a yellow card for a rough challenge on Neymar. Four minutes later Brazil took the lead. Paulinho escaped his marker and made a forward run. Coutinho saw him, sent a perfect high ball and Paulinho poked it over the keeper. Simple as that. Stojkovic’s indecisiveness cost him. Just like in the match versus Switzerland, Serbia started enthusiastically and then became inferior as the half moved along.Just as Serbia got some pressure on Brazil, The Green Canaries went on a lightning quick counter attack that ended with Stojkovic saving Neymar’s shot. In the 61st minute, Alisson punched Rukavina’s cross right into Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serbian forward’s header was way too weak to cause problems. A tremendous opportunity missed. Mitrovic had another header in minute 65. The Eagles were getting more aggressive. Tite felt the need for a refreshment, so he replaced the goalscorer Paulinho with Fernandinho. Serbia’s hopes were buried in the 68th minute, when Neymar found Thiago Silva during a corner kick and the PSG center back smashed a header at the near post to give his team a 2-0 advantage.Three minutes later, Filipe Luis forced Stojkovic to make a save with a long-range bomb. Thiago Silva’s goal woke up the Brazilian crowd and the team played on the wings of that support. Meanwhile, the goal really demoralized the Serbians. Adem Ljajic gave way for Andrija Zivkovic in the 75th minute. Next up to leave the field was Philippe Coutinho. Renato Augusto was his replacement. Then, Nemanja Radonjic came in for Filip Kostic. The Brazilians were routinely bringing the game to a close. Neymar had a chance in the 83rd minute, but his shot from inside the penalty area bounced off the grass and went over the bar. He tried to get fancy three minutes later when the ball deflected off a Serbia player, leaving him alone with Stojkovic. The goalkeeper read Neymar’s lob idea and prevented it. Stojkovic blocked Neymar for one last time in the 93rd minute. After that, the referee blew the final whistle and we were done. Brazil finished first and will play Mexico, while Switzerland will take on Sweden.last_img read more
