Bolt plans ‘Bigger, better’ Christmas treat for Sherwood Content

first_imgSprinting superstar Usain Bolt will be spending Boxing Day with members of his hometown community, Sherwood Content in Trelawny, with this year’s annual Christmas treat, adding the screening of his I Am Bolt movie.The showing of the critically acclaimed documentary will be one of several features at this year’s treat, which is expected will cater to at least 600 children.The nine-time Olympic champion’s Christmas treat will take place at the sprinter’s old school – Waldensia Primary, with popular disc jock ZJ Sparks expected to make an appearance, while, prize giveaways, face painting, mechanical bull and several other fun rides are also to be offered.Bolt said he is again looking forward to the opportunity to give back to his community and is particularly happy about the chance to watch his documentary with the youngsters from the area.”Giving back to my community is very important to me. Every year I try to make the experience bigger and better for the children,” Bolt said.”Thankfully, this year, I am also able to show my movie to top off a fun-filled day for all the children,” added Bolt.Bolt, who is expected to retire from competitive athletics at the end of next season, has staged the treat in his community every year since his rise to prominence.last_img
