FRISCO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin’s Aiyana Johnson is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.The sophomore forward was extremely efficient last week, shooting 66.7 percent (16-of-24) from the field in the Ladyjacks’ (8-2, 2-0 SLC) two conference-opening victories. Johnson opened up with 20 points and 13 boards against Houston Baptist on Wednesday for her third double-double performance of the season. The sophomore then logged 14 points and eight rebounds against McNeese to close out the week and extend SFA’s win streak to six games.The award marks the first of Johnson’s career.Women’s Basketball Player of the Week – Aiyana Johnson, Stephen F. She began her week on the road with 20 points and 13 rebounds against HBU for her third double-double performance this season.
